Thousands pay respect to Imran

It was another tragedy for the family as four and a half years ago his father, mother and sister were murdered in Pakistan.

Imran Yousaf (25) of Howgill Close, lost his life early on Monday morning after suffering a bowel condition.

Imran, who was 25 last week, was born in Burnley, but lived in Nelson and went to Lomeshaye’s primary schools and then Edge End High School.

He has had a shop in Blackburn but also ran a security operation here in Pendle.

On Tuesday, around 2,500 saddened people went along to his funeral at the Central Ghausia Mosque in Nelson and Silverman Hall.

His older brother Kamar said: “Imran had a bowel condition for a year. He died suddenly and it was a shock for our family. There was no warning of his likely death.

“He had his own shop in Blackburn and he was still running it and working there while he had his illness. And he had his security business as well.”

Their father Mohammed Yousaf, mother Pervaiz and sister Tamir Yousaf – who worked for Pendle Council – were murdered during a visit to Pakistan more than four year ago. No one has been charged with the murder, Kamar revealed.

And he said: “I am so saddened at losing my younger brother after we lost my parents and sister.

“Thousands of people – at least 2,500 – went to his funeral. My family would like to thank all the well-wishers who attended, with lots of the family.”

It has been revealed that at least £4,700 has been collected for charities in remembrance of Imran, including big family donations.
