Thousands flock to the Ribble Valley for the Beat Herder music festival

It was a mixture of muddy wellies and sun soaked days at this year’s Beat Herder music festival which attracted thousands to the Ribble Valley this weekend.

The theme of the festival, now in its fifth year, was the letter “H” and many of the revellers fully embraced the spirit with some dressing as Hi-De-Hi, the Honey Monster and Henry the Hoover to name just a few.

One even dressed in a hay bale as temperatures reached the high twenties during the weekend.

The site off the A59 between Sawley and Gisburn was filled with an array of imaginative and custom-built installations which included a life-like purpose-built street, a fortress, and a working men’s club.

And high profile acts such as ABC, Badly Drawn Boy, Boney M and the Happy Mondays proved real crowd pleasers.
