The 2026 Colne Grand Prix took place yesterday evening and the event proved to be a resounding success as Matthew Bostock made history. Our photographer Kelvin Stuttard was on hand to capture all the action
Three days after securing the City of London Nocturne, Bostock had an evening to remember as he claimed the Colne Grand Prix for a record third time following his victories in 2019 and 2024. Bostock crossed the line on Market Street six seconds clear of Aaron King, who rides for Wheelbase CabTech Castelli. DAS Richardsons’ rider Frank Longstaff secured third place with a composed ride, finishing a further three seconds behind. Reigning National Circuit champion Cameron Mason also competed and earned a seventh place finish.
Elsewhere, it was a successful evening for Wheelbase CabTech Castelli as a whole after they claimed the team prize. Wheelbase CabTech Castelli topped the team classification on 114 points ahead of Edinburgh Bike Fitting RT and Cycling Sheffield, who were level on 78 points.
In the women’s race, Lancashire rider Emma Jeffers emerged victorious in the opening round of the women’s National Circuit Series, winning the sprint race ahead of Megan Barker and Sophie Lewis. Jeffers edged out Barker, who was the 2023 National Circuit champion, by a whisker, with Lewis coming in third. In each of her last three visits to Colne, Lewis has finished first, second and third. While Madeline Cooper claimed fourth place.
As a result of her victory, Jeffers is the championship leader in the National Circuit Series standings, Handsling Alba Development Road Team leads the team classification and Morven Yeoman is the current sprint leader having claimed victory in both intermediate sprints.
