Snow hits rush-hour traffic across East Lancashire
Gritters were out on the M65 at rush-hour, with traffic flowing west, however, commuters faced long queues as they tried to make their way into the east of the county.
Traffic heading in and out of Rossendale faced lengthy delays and many side roads remained only passable with care after initial snowfalls last night.

Hide AdMark Wolstenholme has already contacted us via Facebook to say: “Manchester Road, a main road and also one of the steepest in Burnley, is now completely shot ice. Did the Council not think a sprinkling of grit might have been in order?”
And Carol Wolstenholme has added: “Manchester Rd at a standstill everyone sliding. No grit what so ever.”
