Keith Harwood has fished since the age of seven when his grandmother bought him his first rod and reel. Nowadays, he fishes chiefly for trout and grayling on the rivers Ribble, Hodder, Aire and Wharfe.

The anthology of stories, from grayling fishing on the Teviot or spinning for pike in Wigtownshire, has something of interest for all. Poaching, rabbits in the guise of salmon and the search for a legendary pike from Loch Ken are all chronicled.
