Road closed in Nelson after diesel spillage

Firefighters were called to Regent Street just after 3-30pm and they worked in liaison with the Environment Agency and United Utilities to clear the spillage.

Equipment deployed included a polyboom to contain the diesel,mats, environment pack and sand to control the leak.

Crews were at the scene for two-and-a-half-hours.
