Sgt. Dave Simpson, of Clitheroe Police, is also urging car owners not to leave valuables on show after a number of theft from vehicles in the area.

In the first incident, thieves targeted an unlocked BMW on the drive of a house in Woodside Road, Simonstone. The offenders escaped with cash and wallet. The incident happened between 7pm last Friday and 4am the following day. At 3am, a man was spotted acting suspiciously while withdrawing money from a cash machine in Whalley Road, Simonstone. Police are examining CCTV footage and believe the victim’s bank card was used in the fraud.

On the same night, an iPad Nano worth £10 was stolen from an Audi A7 in Haugh Avenue, Simonstone, between 11pm on Friday and 11am the next day.

Witnesses should call police on 101.
