There are claims that, from April 1st, all responsive local police officers based at the King Street station will be moved to Blackburn as part of a cost-cutting initiative, meaning they will have to travel from Blackburn, to respond to 999 calls in the rural borough.

The whistleblower claims this will mean, in real terms, the loss of 30 officers from Clitheroe and the Ribble Valley will be amalgamated into a larger division for emergency policing.
