Residents’ shock as Burnley siege continues
Residents have described their shock at events as a siege at a property in Hebrew Road continues overnight.
One woman who lives in Daneshouse Road said: “ I was really shocked when I found out what was happening. It’s a rough area but it’s normally quiet.”
Another man who lives in Travis Street added: “I can’t believe it. Everyone’s talking about it. Lots of people have been stopping at the scene to see what’s going on. Some people are saying he has a knife.”
Police are still at the scene of the incident and roads in the area have been sealed off since teatime yesterday when the incident was initially reported.
