Quad bike tragedy: Scott’s funeral
Family and friends – including his ex-Army colleagues - packed Holy Trinity Church, Colne, on Friday afternoon for the funeral of a Pendle man tragically killed in a quad bike accident in Australia.
Scott Thompson, son of Stephen and Lynne Thompson, of Sansbury Crescent, Nelson, died when the bike he was riding collided with a truck in the state of Victoria on February 4th.
The former Primet High School, Colne, and Nelson and Colne College pupil had left the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, in which he served as a Kingsman, last year to travel with his girlfriend Sami Allott, of Burnley.
The couple had been in Australia for four months when the accident occurred.
The funeral service was followed by cremation at Burnley.
