Pupil “punches teacher” during lesson
A supply teacher at a Burnley high school was allegedly punched by a student during a lesson this week.
The Burnley Express believes the incident took place during the fourth lesson at Hameldon Community College on Tuesday when the teacher was hit by a pupil and a scuffle followed which was witnessed by pupils and other teachers.
Headteacher Miss Gill Broom issued a statement saying: “I can confirm an incident took place at school yesterday involving a supply teacher and a student.
“We have informed the appropriate authorities and an investigation is currently taking place.”
