The M3 Project works across Burnley, Pendle, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley, as well as Rossendale, where it is based.

Project manager Alan Dorrington said: “This year we had to bid for the grant from Lancashire County Council’s Supporting People Team and so we were very pleased to have been able to secure £128,000. This will provide two years of funding for 13 placements for young people in our supported lodgings project.

“This year, along with other providers, we had to go through a competitive tendering process in order to secure the money and we still have a shortfall if we are to maintain the current level of service we provide. We are thankful to LCC for the funding because we are aware of budgetary constraints on the county council.

Householders are sought to offer supported placements within their own homes and help to prepare the young person to live independently. In December the charity launched its sponsor a room scheme by asking people to donate money on a regular basis.
