Council candidate for Cliviger with Worsthorne Richard Sagar said: “Cosima and I are determined to deliver for the residents of Cliviger with Worsthorne and so it was great to have both our local Member of Parliament and the co-chairman of the party visit us in the village.

"We need a strong Conservative team across the board if we want to promote our rural economy and protect our green spaces."

The local election is taking place on Thursday 6th May with polling stations open between 7am -10pm.

Mr Higginbotham MP said: “I was delighted to welcome Amanda to the borough this weekend. Politics is a team effort and in Padiham we've been able to show what can happen when that team works together.

"Working with Government and the Conservative-led Lancashire County Council we're now improving the public realm and getting on with the flood defence scheme. That's exactly the same approach I want to bring to the rest of our borough, using schemes like the Levelling-Up Fund to drive investment and improvements.

"And with less than two weeks before polling day it was great to get the Minister to join us out on the streets delivering some leaflets in Worsthorne too."
