Police release CCTV following town centre brawl

Police have released CCTV images of eight men who they would like to speak to following a drunken street brawl in Burnley town centre.

The incident happened at 7-20am on Easter Saturday, April 4th.

Around 15 people were reported to be involved in disorder in Hammerton Street. One man is believed to have been stamped and kicked in the head but did not suffer any serious injuries.

A 17-year-old from Burnley, Tom Ireland (21), of Wynotham Street, Burnley and Ryan Little (20), of Lancaster Drive, Padiham, have been already been charged with affray and are due to appear at Burnley Magistrates’ Court on April 21st.

DC Barry James, of Burnley CID, said: “We are keen to identify and speak with the eight men pictured and would urge anyone with information to get in touch with Burnley CID on 01282 472119.

“Incidents of this nature involving such levels of violence are simply not acceptable and will not be tolerated.”
