Police appeal after cyclist injured

Police are appealing for information after cyclist was found with serious injuries in Read.

The incident happened at around 5pm on Wednesday, September 17th, when the man came off his bicycle on Old Roman Road, off Whins Lane.

He was found unconscious in the road by a passing member of the public and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he received treatment for injuries to his head and face and a broken wrist.

PC Derek Scott, of Colne Road Policing Unit, said: “Due to the severity of the impact to his head, the cyclist is unable to remember anything of the incident and we are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information about what happened.

“I would urge anyone who may have seen anything at around the time of the incident or any vehicles which may have been involved to contact us.”
