Plans submitted to transform former Clitheroe restaurant The Terrace into offices
The Grade II-listed building could undergo a major refurbishment under proposals submitted to Ribble Valley Borough Council.
Plans have been submitted to convert the former home of The Terrace restaurant in Clitheroe into office and business accommodation.
The Grade II-listed building at 76 Whalley Road, which has also previously housed Tiger Lounge and The Villa, could undergo a major refurbishment under proposals submitted to Ribble Valley Borough Council.
The scheme would see the former restaurant converted into office and business space, with two outbuildings at the rear of the property also refurbished for office use.
According to a Design and Access Statement submitted with the application, the works would include alterations to the building's internal layout, new partitions, upgraded insulation and the refurbishment of existing windows.
Some modern windows and doors would be replaced, while improvements would also be made to the building's plumbing, electrical systems and internal finishes.
Outside, the proposals include electric vehicle charging points, new bin and cycle stores, upgraded lighting and CCTV cameras with automatic number plate recognition.
Two automatic bollards would also be installed at the entrance to the site to prevent unauthorised vehicle access.
The existing car park would provide 22 parking spaces.
The planning documents state that the proposals would bring the former restaurant back into business use and make a positive contribution to Clitheroe town centre.
They also argue that the refurbishment would improve the building while protecting its historic character.
The Design and Access Statement says: "The proposed development is not expected to have any undue harm to the overall significance of the listed building."
The application, reference 3/2026/0515, is awaiting a decision from Ribble Valley Borough Council.
