The college has a long-standing tradition of expertise in the hairdressing industry, with a reputation for providing local salons with the next generation of top stylists.

In addition to counting a large number of local salon owners as former students, the college also sees a number of students each year progress to the top salons in Manchester, Leeds and London – and can even count a number of globetrotters as former students! Several students have progressed on to prestigious degree programmes training in hair and beauty for the film and television industry.

The practical skills and creativity on show has once again demonstrated the outstanding standard of students that we have in the section. This year we had 10 competitions, including new competitions as part of our VRQ men’s and ladies’ hairdressing and barbering courses, an exciting addition for the future - As well as the Level 3 Avant Garde competition and show, which each year gets better and better.

“Special thanks to all the companies who donated prizes and our wonderful judges. Here’s to next year!”

The atmosphere at the event was electric, with friends and family of the competitors attending to show support.
