Photos: First Hospice Little Heroes fund-raiser

The youngsters, from tiny tots up to 12 year olds, put their best little feet forward to raise money for Pendleside Hospice.
And the fun event, which involved walking a three-mile circuit of the park in the sunshine, did what it set out to do – encourage lots of community spirit, provide fun and laughs and promote exercise for children, while raising funds for Pendleside Hospice.

Hide AdThis was the first of what is set to be a regular summer event just for children. Around 400 of them, wearing their Little Hospice Hero T-shirts, joined in. The fully marshalled walk took around two hours and at the end each child was rewarded with a medal, certificate and goody bag.

Families spent time in a marquee on the field before and after the walk where they could have fun with face painting, bouncy castles and children’s entertainment.
Kaye Bartle of the hospice said: “Well done to everyone who took part and thanks to sponsors Sanderson Dance and Fitness and Lomeshaye Village Day Nursery. This event will have raised thousands of pounds of much-needed funds.”
