The ceremony took place on the bandstand, and it is believed this is the first time a remembrance service has taken place inside the park which celebrates its 100th birthday next year.

Organised by Padiham Town Council the Mayor of Padiham Coun. Vince Pridden led the occasion which was attended by the town's respected veterans Ted Davidson and Jim Bates, who celebrated his 99th birthday last month.

A service was led by Canon Mark Jones.
