Care workers at 10 homes in Burnley and Pendle have taken delivery of a 'care boxes' as a 'thank you' for their sterling efforts to keep residents safe during the pandemic.

The boxes, containing tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolate, were made up by Burnley solicitor Amanda Coates to show her appreciation to dedicated staff.

Amanda, who is a freelance solicitor, included a letter in the care boxes which she described as a 'small token' to show thanks.

In the letter Amanda said: "Please enjoy a warm drink and sweet treat as you deserve it. We really do appreciate each and every one of you.

"I know there are dark days ahead but we will get there. There is a way out and we are heading in the right direction."
