Riders got in the saddle for 12 hour charity bike ride in Burnley

A12 hour charity bike ride attracted cyclists from the age of 14 to 86.

Staged at St Peter's Leisure Centre in Burnley, just before the coronavirus lockdown, the non stop ride from 9am to 9pm, was held to raise money for Sport Relief.

Gym members and centre staff took part and the oldest participant, who was 86, pedalled an amazing 10k.

Sarah Drinkwater, who the the operations manager at the centre, said they had to bring more bikes in as so many people wanted to have a go.

She said: "We felt it was a really good way for people to have fun and also raise money for a good cause at the same time.

"We gave three weeks notice of the event so quite a few people had the chance to get some training done."
