Major road closed after two-vehicle crash outside Burnley General Hospital

Motorists are being advised to avoid Casterton Avenue to the roundabout at the junction of Briercliffe Road after an accident involving a couple of cars.

Emergency services are currently at the scene of the incident, outside the entrance to Burnley General Hospital on Casterton Avenue.

A spokesman for Burnley and Padiham Police said: "We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision involving a couple of vehicles outside the entrance to Burnley General Hospital on Casterton Avenue. The road has temporarily been closed from the roundabout at the junction of Briercliffe Road and also the other side of Casterton Avenue near the entrance of Burnley General Hospital. If you could please avoid this area for now we will let you know when it is reopened."
