Little girl with a big heart runs 10k for charity

Eight-year-old Phoebe Byrom ran 10k and promtly raised more than £600 for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of her grandad and great grandad who both lost their battles to cancer in recent years.

The St Peter's, Simonstone, pupil ran with her proud parents from their home around the local area.

Mum Jemma said: "We are so very proud of Phoebe for running all this way to raise money and give back to a fabulous a charity that has supported us and so many others.

"Phoebe ran 10k in one hour and nine minutes with me and her dad. At one point even I was struggling to keep up, she really was amazing!"
