An inquest begins today into the death of a 20-year-old Burnley woman who died in 2017.

The hearing into the death of Molly Carter is taking place at Blackburn Enterprise Centre and is expected to last for three days.

A former pupil of Rosewood Primary School and Unity College, Burnley, Molly went on to study hairdressing at Nelson and Colne College.

From the age of 14 Molly had worked for Andrew's Butchers in Burnley Market Hall as a Saturday girl and was popular and well known with customers and traders because of her bubbly personality and ready smile.

At her funeral Molly's family made a request for donations for the charity MIND and her friends held a collection for clothes, toiletries and other home comfort items for patients in the mental health unit at Burnley General Hospital.

A commemorative bench was also erected at Nelson and Colne College in Molly's memory.
