With tougher measures now in place, the much-loved pie brand will be making five pie drops every week, for at least a month, delivering free boxes of pastry goodness across Lancashire.

To be eligible for a pie drop this week, fans and followers on Facebook and Twitter must simply respond to the relevant post and tag a friend, neighbour or family member, based in the East Lancashire area, who they feel is most deserving.

Holland’s Pies will then select five worthy causes each week and will deliver safely to their doorsteps, adhering to the latest government advice for deliveries.

Recipients can choose from a selection of classic flavours including Potato and Meat, Meat, Cheese and Onion and either a tasty Steak and Kidney Pie or Pud. The pie drop is likely to last each recipient at least a fortnight, depending on how much they love their pies.

Leanne Holcroft, brand manager at Holland’s Pies said: “During this difficult time, we’d like to give people in our community just a little something to brighten their day, and we’re relying on our social media community to tell us who these deserving people are.

“We know that there will be a number of people confined to their homes and struggling to get supplies, least of all their favourite treats, or could be spending most of their waking hours in essential work and therefore not having the time to get what meals they need.

“It’s a small gesture but one that we hope makes some sort of positive difference to someone’s week – we’ll be running this for at least a month and will review as the situation changes.”
