Final call to support Sarah Dearden auction as community gather in support of late local artist's family and Pendleside Hospice
With just five days to go, organisers are making a final call for the community to come together and support a very special evening in memory of much-loved local artist Sarah Dearden.
“Sarah Dearden: A Legacy in Art - Live Auction” will take place on Friday April 24th at 7pm at Park Hill Barn at Pendle Heritage Centre, Barrowford, bringing friends, family and supporters together to celebrate Sarah’s life – raising vital funds for Pendleside Hospice and also Sarah’s two daughters that she leaves behind – Ella and Mia.
The event marks the one year anniversary of Sarah’s passing, after her short but devastating illness. She was a highly regarded contemporary visual artist known for her striking portraiture and expressive figure studies. Her loss has been deeply felt across the community, where she was known not only for her talent but for her warmth, kindness and support for others.
The evening will centre around a live auction of Sarah’s original artworks and prints – offering a rare opportunity to own a piece of her powerful, emotive work and ensure her creative legacy lives on.

In addition, organisers have announced an exciting silent auction and raffle, featuring a wide range of generously donated prizes from local businesses and supporters.
Highlights include luxury jewellery, a Dyson Supersonic hairdryer, a personal training package, a VIP wine tasting experience, an overnight stay at the Dakota in Manchester and a signed Burnley FC shirt that was signed after the match on 11th April - which was the actual date of Sarah’s anniversary.
A raffle on the night will give guests even more chance to contribute and win prizes donated by well-known local names and independent businesses from across the area.
All funds raised from the evening will be split between Pendleside Hospice - in recognition of the care and compassion shown to Sarah and also in support of her two daughters Ella and Mia.
Event organisers Keighley Gowers and Karen Taylor said the response so far has been overwhelming, but hopes this final push will encourage even more people to attend:
“This is about coming together for Sarah - for everything she gave to so many of us. The support we’ve already seen has been incredible, but we’d love to fill the room and raise as much as we possibly can - It’s going to be a really special night.”
Those unable to attend in person will also have the opportunity to take part, with details of online bidding to be shared ahead of the event.
With limited tickets remaining, organisers are urging anyone wishing to attend to secure their place now and be part of an evening that promises to be both meaningful and memorable.
