"He is only five but he is so caring and loving. He just wants to make other people happy."

Due to respiratory problems that plague George he is in the extremely clinically vulnerable catagory and cannot leave the house at all for 12 weeks.

But George does not let his health worries get him down and his empathy for others is truly remarkable for someone so young.

Originally George, who is a pupil at Lord Street Primary School in Colne, wanted to sell some of his toys to buy the eggs as he was worried that youngsters in hospital may not receive any. So his mum took him to buy some that they could donate.

Touched by her son's generous gesture Sammy shared his story on social media and invited people to make donations of eggs. The response was overwhelming and George received almost 90 eggs and also sweets, teddies, chocolate bunnies, character cards and books.

When staff at the Colne Sainsburys store heard about George's generosity they donated a £20 voucher for him to choose some Easter treats for the children. And Nelson's Morrison's donated George a big basket of Easter treats for being such a kind boy.

She added: "Me and George would like to thank everyone who made a contribution despite everyone going through a worrying and uncertain time.
