In a post on social media this morning the organisers said they were 'utterly gutted and heart broken' to announce the postponement of the much anticipated 2021 festival.
The statement said: "In a nutshell we can't insure the festival against covid cancellation.
"We will not gamble all of your ticket money and the future of the festival itself on any eventuality of covid or government intervention/restrictions in the next 10 weeks.
"We really do hope you can stay with us for the 2022 coming back together extravaganza party we're all waiting for and needing."
The four day festival was due to take place from July 15th to the 18th.
The news is a blow for the thousands of music fans who flock to the Ribble Valley for the event.
