Crews tackle kitchen fire in Burnley

Two casualties were checked by paramedics after a fire which broke out in the kitchen of a terrace property in Napier Street.

Three fire engines from Burnley and Nelson attended just after 12pm yesterday (Sunday).

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "Firefighters used one hose reel, three breathing apparatus, a positive ventilation fan, small tools and a dewalt saw. Two casualties were checked by paramedics, but not conveyed to hospital. Firefighters were at the scene for one hour."
