Four fire engines from Nelson, Colne and Burnley, along with an aerial ladder platform from Hyndburn and the Stinger appliance from Skelmersdale attended the incident yesterday (Sunday) at 5-15pm.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "The fire involved waste that had spread to the first floor of the building that measured 100m x 50m. Firefighters sectorised the fire and used lighting, a JCB digger and two jets to extinguish the fire. There were no reported casualties. Firefighters were at the scene for just over two hours."
