Covid restrictions forces cancellation of Burnley neighbourhood's first Hallowe'en lantern parade

But organisers have launched an online competition instead to keep community spirit going.
The lantern parade was the latest in a series of morale boosting events organied by the Rosegrove Neighbourhood Watch.

Hide AdIn August residents were invited to take part in a scarecrow festival and the response was amazing with dozens of residents rising to the challenge. Visitors and neighbours were treated to an array of different scarecrows including Disney characters, superheroes and even Boris Johnson and Donald Trump!


The lantern parade competition is inviting residents to post pictures of their own home-made lanterns on the Rosegrove Neighbourhood Watch facebook page or a photo of the entrant in a Hallowe'en costume.
The closing date for the competition is Sunday, November 1st and prizes up for grabs include a £30 voucher, a meal out and bowling alley vouchers.

All donations made to this year's lantern parade will be put forward to the event in 2021.
