On Thursday, April 24, at 7pm, a special live auction, “Sarah Dearden: A Legacy in Art”, will take place at Park Hill Barn, Pendle Heritage Centre, Barrowford. The event promises to be a moving tribute to a woman who was not only an exceptional contemporary visual artist, but a pillar of the community and a friend to many.
Sarah was widely admired for her striking portraiture and powerful figure studies. Her work captured emotion with remarkable depth; often focusing on intimate, expressive faces and human connection. Working predominantly in dramatic monochrome tones, her pieces explored strength, vulnerability and identity, earning her a loyal following and touching countless lives.
This special evening will give guests the opportunity to bid on a collection of Sarah’s original artworks, as well as limited edition prints. For many, it will be a rare chance to own a piece created by a truly talented local artist whose passion and creativity defined her life.
Those who attend will not only be supporting her artistic legacy, but also her family. Funds raised will go towards supporting her two beloved daughters, Ella and Mia. In addition, ticket donations from the evening will be given to Pendleside Hospice, in recognition of the care and compassion shown to Sarah and her family in her final days.
Event organisers Keighley and Karen, remember Sarah not just as a friend, but as one of the most talented and generous souls they’ve ever known.
They said: “Her art was an extension of her heart – full of depth, strength and emotion. This auction is about honouring her, celebrating the incredible legacy she leaves behind, and surrounding Ella and Mia with the love and support Sarah always gave so freely to others. We just want to do her proud.”
Local residents, art lovers and members of the business community are being encouraged to attend, whether they knew Sarah personally or simply wish to support a local family and celebrate an extraordinary talent. It’s also an opportunity to help ensure Sarah’s work continues to be seen, treasured and remembered for years to come.
Tickets are limited and expected to sell quickly. For event details and reservations, please visit the event page: www.bit.ly/SarahDeardenAuction
