Clitheroe businessman's charity stall raises £407 towards cancer treatments

A Clitheroe businessman pulled in shoppers to his charity stall on Clitheroe Market to give Rosemere Cancer Foundation a cracker of a Christmas by raising £407.06.

Longstanding supporter Mr Pete Gainsley, sold a variety of goodies at bargain prices, which had been given to him by a retiring wholesale gift trader. He held his sale over the two consecutive Saturdays before Christmas.

Pete said: “Once again the generous people of Clitheroe and the Ribble Valley supported our efforts and thanks also go to our helpers and friends, who gave their time to help Rosemere in this most unusual of times.”

Pete added: “We had one customer, who came back to give us more money for glassware she bought and another, who gave us a £20 donation.”
