Nelson charity Community Lighthouse Foundation has been helping vulnerable people at home and abroad during the coronavirus lockdown.

In the form of food packages and cash support, the charity has aided thousands of poor families in Pakistan hit hard by the lockdown. These are families that no longer have any income, and sleep at night not knowing if they will eat the following day.

And closer to home, the foundation has partnered with Gateway Burnley to arrange a homeless food service within the local community.

Charity executive chairman and founder Mr Shokat Malik said: "It's important during this time that we all come together to do what we can. I know from reports I receive back from recipients in the UK and abroad that they truly appreciate every bit of support that they get and are sending their prayers for all the kind donors."

Mr Malik emphasised that the charity is working with those usually left behind in society and even more so during this pandemic.
