Caring Padiham couple's inspirational idea to help children beat coronavirus stress is picture perfect

A couple in self isolation, due to the coronavirus, came up with an idea to put a smile on people's faces in these uncertain times.

Viv Storey decided to hold a children's colouring competition and she invited any youngsters stuck at home to colour a picture and post it on her facebook page.

With Easter eggs and chocolate treats for prizes the budding artists were set a deadline and as the pictures came in Viv's husband Justin acted as the judge.

Viv, who works as a child practitioner at Blooming Buds Childcare in Padiham, said: "We thought it was time to spread some happiness in these troubled times.

"After much deliberation, and because they are all absolutely lovely, we had five winners."

First place was awarded to Lucia-Grace Brierley (seven) for her wonderful unicorn picture. Albie Dand (five) was second with his own drawing of the coronavirus and Gracie-Mae Chapman (six) was third with two animal drawings.

Fourth place went to brother and sister Harbour Jo (five) with his meerkat picture and four-year-old Evie Jean who coloured in a mermaid.
