In addition to this, he has also been actively involved in a Greater Manchester-wide project that successfully rehoused and supported 316 rough sleepers over three years, and has been a committee Member for Plus Dane and Bury Red Door Homeless Charity.

Calico Homes currently owns and manages approximately 4,700 homes in Lancashire, including accommodation for families, individuals and older people, plus supported housing and services for the homeless.

More recently, the organisation has responded to the need for extra emergency accommodation in the Burnley borough, having repurposed more than a dozen empty homes to provide housing for vulnerable people who require a safe space to self-isolate during the Covid-19 crisis.

They are also playing an active role in co-ordinating community hub Burnley Together – which is supporting residents who are struggling as a result of Covid-19.

We believe he will help us drive excellent performance in our housing services, particularly at this challenging time when people in our community most need safety, security and support.

“On a personal level, we are impressed that Mark truly demonstrates the values and culture we share across the group, and has a strong vision that will see our integrated housing and support services continue to grow.”

Chairman of the Calico Homes Board, John Inglesfield, said: “We are really pleased that Mark is joining Calico and we look forward to working with him for the good of our customers and the local community.”

Mark will start on Monday, May 18th.
