Burnley’s very own Jordan North is riding high after bringing in an extra 400,000 listeners to Capital Radio’s breakfast show, just six months after he joined the station.

Jordan announced his departure from BBC Radio 1’s drive time programme in February and industry figures published reveal that his new show at Capital attracted 2.96M listeners in the third quarter of 2024, compared with 2.55M for the first three months.

Jordan hosts the Capital breakfast show alongside Chris Stark and Sian Welby from 6am to 10am. The trio added 261,000 listeners in their first three months, and a further 151,000 listeners this quarter.

Jordan became a national treasure when he appeared on the hit TV reality show ‘Im A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ in 2020. He won the hearts of the nation when was runner up to winner, CBeebies presenter Giovanna Fletcher, in what was the 20th series of the show.

Constantly singing the praises of his hometown, plucky Jordan rowed 100 miles from London to Burnley over five days for Comic Relief and raised the staggering sum of £500,000 in the process. Hundreds of fans flocked to greet him when at the finish line at Finsley Gate Wharf in Burnley.
