Millions tuned in to see the 30-year-old, who grew up in Burnley, take part in the trial Viper's Vault with fellow celebrity, former Eastenders star Shane Ritchie.

To get him through the ordeal, which involved cracking a code to retrieve stars while locked in a metal coffin which snakes were fed into, Jordan kept repeating the phrase 'Happy place, happy place Turf Moor.'

A passionate Claret, Jordan may have won himself an army of new fans but the show's presenter, Ant McPartlin is certainly not popular in the town when he poked fun at the Clarets, commenting that they are the bottom of the Premier League and have not won a game this season.

Admitting that his legs had 'gone to jelly' Jordan, who has been dubbed 'the most scared celebrity we have ever had' by Ant and Dec, looked close to tears before the challenge and had to be given reassurance by Ritchie that they could do it.

After completing the trial Jordan described it as 'absolutely horrific' and 'the scariest thing I have ever done in my life.'

When asked about his 'happy place' chant Jordan explained that his paratrooper brother had advised him to think about the place where he was happiest when faced with a scary situation.

Jubilant after returning to the camp, which this year is set in Gwrych Castle in Wales, the celebrities received a meal of eel which did not go down well and Jordan even described it as 'absolutely minging.'

And before the show ended it was revealed that viewers had voted Jordan to take part in the third trial called Frights of the Round Table. He will be taking part in it with fellow contestants, TV presenter Vernon Kay and Corrie star Bev Callard.

Although born in York, Jordan moved to Harle Syke in Burnley and was a student at St James' Lanehead Primary School. Shortly before enrolling at high school, he moved to Preston.

Before being poached for the prime time gig on Radio 1 in 2018, he worked at the in-house radio station at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, community station Preston FM and Rock FM.
