Burnley fitness fanatic nears end of breathtaking charity burpee challenge
Anthony Tibbs, co-founder of FLS Fitness in Simonstone will hit the ground for his last burpee on Saturday and is inviting the public down for a 'Burpees for Beers' grand finale between noon and 1-30pm.
The event, which will be held at Anthony's FLS fitness hub in Time Technology Park, will give members of the public the chance to attempt a few burpees alongside Anthony in return for a complimentary beer.
“Hopefully this fun end to the challenge will help add a little more awareness to the issues of mental and emotional well-being and the work the Samaritans undertake on a 24/7, 365 days a year basis. It will be great to see as many people as possible.”
“Sadly every month in the UK, well over 500 people take their own lives, with over three quarters of these being men. From a personal perspective I have known friends, and friends of friends, who have tragically added to these statistics.
"The work Samaritans do in extending a safety net to vulnerable individuals in emotional need is vital.”
Samaritans Pendle branch director, Victoria Haworth, added: “This brilliant fund-raiser is a lovely example of how an individual and business can help both to raise funds, but more importantly raise awareness of the issues surrounding suicide and the work Samaritans undertake.
"Thanks to Anthony and FLS Fitness your generosity and efforts are very much appreciated.”
