Burnley care home celebrating a woman's 100th birthday with a birthday card appeal
A Burnley care home is celebrating a woman's 100th birthday with a birthday card appeal.
HC-One’s Dove Court in Burnley is inviting friends, family, and well-wishers to send birthday cards to Margaret Phenix to mark the occasion.

Margaret will celebrate turning 100 on December 20th with a special party attended by family, friends, colleagues, and special visitors. The festivities will include a buffet lunch, birthday cake, afternoon tea, and entertainment by Kyle Harrison.
Catherine Brierley, Dove Court’s General Manager, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be celebrating Margaret’s 100th birthday. She is a truly remarkable resident whose positivity, resilience, and zest for life inspire everyone at Dove Court.

“Margaret has lived an extraordinary life, from her time in the RAF to raising her family in Kirkcaldy, and we are thrilled to mark this milestone with her, her loved ones, and the local community. We hope that everyone will join us in sending Margaret a card to make her centenary extra special."
Margaret was born in 1925 in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, and joined the Royal Air Force at 17, helping to deliver essential goods by aircraft during her service.
She was married twice and moved to Burnley in 1970 with her husband Bill, raising her children and grandchildren. She lived independently after her husband, Bill, passed in 1981 until the age of 98.
You can send birthday cards to: Wellbeing Team, HC-One’s Dove Court Residential and Nursing Home, Shuttleworth Street, Burnley, BB10 1EN
Please ensure cards arrive by December 18th to be included in the celebrations.
