Positive Action in the Community came up with the idea for the ' Fur’estive' fancy dress competition for dogs to encourage pet owners to get their pooches kitted out in their best festive attire.

There are three categories for the contest: the best festive costume, the grumpiest 'please stop taking pictures of me in this costume' and the cutest poser.

All the money raised through the competition will help the charity to continue its work across Pendle, Burnley and Rossendale on a number of projects which support people to build emotional resilience, improve their emotional health and wellbeing, make positive choices, and improve their education and employment chances and move on to live independent lives.

The competition, which closes at midnight on Sunday (December 13th) costs £2.99 to enter and the winners will be announced on the following day.
