Susan Mary Hart: "This is our wonderful mum, 96 years young Florence Gardner. Who was in her younger years, after the 2nd world war, was a matron of a nursery school in Ward End Park Birmingham. Then after marrying our late father, they moved to Burnley because dad work for Lucas Aerospace and they wanted him here. After taking some off to loving bringing her family of 4 up, while dad worked. She often offered to look after friends children if their mothers needed a rest or was ill. We always had lots of friends to play with at our house 💞Once we were all at school, Florence(who was known as Pat to most people) went on to open the first play group in Burnley at the then Elim Methodist church on Melville Street. Once that closed, many years later, she was employed by Lancashire county council, to help run the Creche at the Thompson Sorts Centre. When for many years, until it was closed, while the parents participated in sports there, she loving looked after their children. Patience and a love for children has always been part of our mothers life. she has always been there for us, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Her kind and generous spirit ,her forgiving ways and her trust and love for everyone , whatever their circumstances, has always been and still is her nature. If I could be half the person she is, I’d be happy. We are so blessed to have her for our Mom and owe her everything Photo: s
