17. Day 17
The timeless classic fairytale ‘Cinderella’ is being staged by Burnley’s Sion Pantomime Society in 2025. And in a terrific gesture of kindness the society has donated a family ticket to Burnley Together’s Christmas Present Appeal. The rags to riches story about the sweet natured heroine, a prince, two ugly sisters, a fairy godmother and, of course, the glass slipper, will be coming to the stage in February. If you fancy going to see the show tickets are £7 for children and £10 for adults. You can get your tickets and further information by going to www.ticketsource.co.uk/sionpanto Photo: na

18. Day 18
"Sweet" and "talented" youngsters have put smiles on the faces of elderly care home residents. Seven pupils visited Nelson Manor Care Home last Monday to make Christmas cards with residents Rose, Hilary, Doug, Pam, Siobhan, and Mary. Year 5 and Year 6 pupils and teacher Molly Thompson and teaching assistant, Mrs Ali, came from Great Marsden St John's CE Primary School. Siobhan said: "Every design was totally different and the children are so talented. It was such a treat to see them today." Hilary added: "The children were so sweet and so good at drawing. It's been such a nice visit, something really different and lovely." 20. Day 20
Here is Miss Junior Teen Burnley Scarlett Heseltine donating toys and Christmas gifts to the charity ELHT&Me for the children’s ward at the Royal Blackburn Hospital. Fund raising and help others is part of caring Scarlett’s role. She has been working with a variety of different charities to raise awareness of Tourette’s Syndrome, a condition she was recently diagnosed with, to show that whatever challenges young people face they can achieve whatever they put their mind to. Scarlett (13) has also recently represented her hometown in the Miss Junior Teen Great Britain contest where she was second runner up. Photo: NA
