Pendle Hill on national ‘most spooky’ list

Pendle Hill has made it on to a national list of spooky places to visit.

The ghoulish site, known for its connections to the Pendle witches and Lancashire Witch Trials of 1612, appears at number six on the list of “12 Real Life Haunted Locations You’re Far Too Scared To Visit,” compiled by entertainment website Buzzsheep.com.

Twelve people, 10 of them from Pendle, were tried in Lancaster accused of witchcraft after people began dying of mysterious illnesses, milk turned sour, and cattle began falling ill.
