“Zero hour contracts” - Court case will raise the bar
I am a local resident, retired and concerned about employees who may be having their rights ignored by employers offering “zero hour contracts”.
People power has forced one of the biggest abusers of zero hours contracts to make lots of changes. A recent case has been fought and won in the courts against Sports Direct, funded by 38 Degrees members, a campaigning group.
Sports Direct will now be giving their zero hours staff the rights they deserve, including holiday and sick pay. This will lift the bar for other employers.
