We must investigate councillors’ arrears

On BBC North-West News, two weeks ago, it said several Burnley councillors were in arrears of council tax.

I would like to know if a summons was taken out for each person? If not, why not?

If not, I suggest a summons is issued for these councillors with extra costs of approximately £60.

The summons will be heard at Burnley or Reedley Magistrates’ Court. If anything is owing at the hearing date a distress warrant will be issued for that amount. This will be passed to the council’s bailiffs to execute the warrant.

I wonder if these people owe money to the council for anything else (i.e private telephone calls)?

I hope the council leader and chairman of finance will look into the above matter.
