Steve Rumbelow departure is a sad loss

I have met Steve on several occasions and always been impressed with his empathy and grasp of a wide range of issues. Having to deal with the very many different stake holders cannot be an easy task and in my opinion he has transformed the attitude of the council over his eight-year tenure. Clearly his new employer, Rochdale Council, have seen his impact on Burnley and will hope his skills and experience will rub off on them. The long term vitality of our town is linked solely and directly to our economic success, attracting and retaining investment has and will continue to create a virtuous circle. It is important that our council choose his successor wisely and boldly so that we can continue to move forward and embrace our relatively new found confidence. I am sure the Burnley Bondholder group and many others who have worked with Steve wish him well.
