National event to honour Korean War veterans
The intention was to host an event and service locally marking the 60th anniversary of the end of the conflict.
Things have since moved on, and the Korean War Veterans Associations around the country are now doing their own events with a big one at the National Arboretum in Staffordshire on July 27th.

Hide AdIt will be, I am sure, a great event, and our results show the overwhelming number of veterans will be attending this big and most certainly final gathering of Korean veterans.
Therefore we have decided to cancel the proposed event in Pendle. We only had a very few names and most of those were family and not veterans.
We have no wish whatsoever to distract anyone from the main event in Staffordshire, and neither do we want an event that would not be really representative as most of the local veterans would be also at their own main event.
We are sure the National Arboretum Day will be one to remember. Families are also very welcome to attend, so maybe those few who did contact me would like to attend the big one or watch it on TV if you cannot travel.
