MP absent from Post Office closure meeting

Tonight (2nd July) there was a well attended public meeting held at the Mechanics to discuss the closure of the town’s General Post Office.

One person was conspicuous by his absence - where was Gordon Birtwistle, our supposed elected representative? Or the Invisible Man as one of the speakers called him!

I can only imagine he did not dare show his face because the decision to close Crown Post Offices was made by the Coalition Government of which he is a member.

Please Gordon will you join the 5,000 Burnley residents who have already signed the petition to oppose closure of the Post Office?
