LETTER: Yarn bombing Clitheroe Castle

Thank you for printing my letter last week about the idea to “Yarn bomb” Clitheroe Castle.

I have had a good response from the public gaining three new knitters who will knit for needy children, NOT the castle. I have also heard from Mrs Marion Sycamore, of Whalley, who is now 80, but who, three years ago, went personally to Mombasa in Kenya, and took with her many bags of knitted clothes for children there.

The garments had been knitted or crocheted on behalf of The Craft Studio, and Marion still continues to crochet for us today. There are photos of her giving these to the children and they were so grateful and pleased to receive them.
